Novelis Penny Jordan dalam Kenangan

Baru aku tahu penulis kegemaran aku, Penny Jordan telah meninggal dunia pada 31 Disember 2011 (umur 65 tahun) disebabkan kanser. Aku suka sangat novel-novel dia. Rasa romantik sangat. Antara novel yang aku ingat sangat adalah Takenover. Biasalah, cerita kahwin paksa sebab nak kembangkan lagi syarikat si hero. Cerita orang putih pun banyak juga genre kahwin paksa, sama macam novel Melayu jugak. Tetapi, selalunya (untuk M&B), ceritanya tak meleret-leret sangat, takde la berkali-kali nak pujuk-memujuk sebab aku rasalah kekangan utamanya bilangan muka surat. Buku M&B ni nipis je, tak sampai 200 halaman.

My fav. Mills & Boon/Harlequin romance book. I still remember reading this book when I was 14.

Synopsis:

Salah satu kegemaran aku sejak tingkatan 1 hingga kini - membaca buku Mills & Boon. It's more than romance!

One of my favorite. Cassie, a nerd computer genius was forced to marry Joel, a playboy king in computer world in order to expand his business. Later she learned his childhood past tried to unite him with his mother. Joel accused that his mother cheated on his father and caused his elder brother's death. He always believed that he was a child from her mother's affair with her Italian boyfriend.

Miranda (Joel's mother) flew from Italy after knowing that her son's marriage through a newspaper. She met Cassie and brought her to Italy for grooming and she was transformed into a beautiful lady. Cassie no longer wore glasses and her 'little sparrow dress'. Finally Cassie knew the real story about her husband's family. Joel was always her mother's favorite and he was his father's son.

A Mistake in Identity adalah buku M&B yang pertama saya baca tetapi dalam bahasa Melayu iaitu 'Kau Bukan Aku'.

Penulis novel cinta - mereka tidak semestinya mengalami pengalaman cinta yang indah seperti dalam nukilan mereka. Diri mereka tidaklah sesempurna seperti watak rekaan. Tetapi mereka mempunyai daya imaginasi yang tinggi yang turut membawa pembaca asyik dengan cerita rekaan mereka.

Sandra Field sebagai contoh, aku rasakan dia tidaklah sejelita watak rekaannya, Caroline yang bijak dipadankan dengan the wild & sexy Sean Riley, seolah-olah seperti serpent yang mempunyai racun berbisa. Sandra tinggal di Nova Scotia dan setelah lama bekerja makan gaji akhirnya dia menjadi penulis.

Aku tertarik dengan watak Caroline dan Sean dalam novel A Mistake In Identity yang kukira berlatar belakangkan kawasan hutan di Nova Scotia dan bandar Halifax di Kanada. Akibat wajah Caroline yang seiras Gabrielle, dia diculik dan dilarikan ke sebuah rumah persinggahan di dalam hutan dan dipaksa mengaku bersalah di atas kesalahan yang tidak pernah dilakukannya. Gabrielle merupakan seorang wanita licik yang memperdayakan abang kepada Sean sehingga merengkok dalam penjara akibat tuduhan mengedar dadah.

Sean tetap menuduh Caroline adalah Gabrielle walaupun berkali-kali dinafikan. Caroline dijadikan tahanan dalam rumah yang aku tidak pasti berapa lama tempoh masanya. Plot ceritanya...anda semua boleh teka.

Aku sukakan cara penulis menceritakan kecantikan hutan pokok tirus dan tasik yang terletak di hadapan banglo tersebut.

In the end, Georgie married Dirk de Vries although she loved Niklaas. There was misunderstanding that made Georgie went back to England without no one knew it. She raised her baby, Susan, until two years later, Niklaas found them and claimed what should be his.


I love this one and I was once dream of becoming a vet, work with big cats and excotic animals in Africa.
